The West Cork COVID-19 Resource directory, wc19, is a voluntary community project initiated in March 2020 by West Cork Development Partnership, Bantry Notice Board & Animal Advocacy.
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
We have two types of contact forms on our website:
We keep contact form submissions for a certain period for customer service purposes, and do not use the information submitted through them for marketing purposes.
Cookies are small data files placed on your computer or internet enabled device by websites in order to add functionality. A cookie can be used to identify a user’s computer or internet enabled device to the website, or to other third party websites. This allows websites to improve the way they work, such as remembering preferences expressed by a user or tracking a user’s use of a website for statistical analysis.
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
Our hosts, Blacknight Solutions, collect some anonymous analytics data. Their Privacy Policies are here.
wc19 uses the industry standard Google Analytics package in order to track the use of our website. The Google Analytics package uses a suite of cookies in order to anonymously track things like unique visitors to the site, how long users visit the site for and how users found the site. Some of these cookies are session cookies which expire when you leave the site or where you have been inactive on the site for a certain period of time, whilst others are set to expire two years after they have been last updated. You can opt out of Google Analytics using the tools available at this website.
We use Akismet anti-spam service. The information Akismet typically collects when users comment includes your IP address, user agent, referrer, and Site URL (along with other information directly provided by you such as their name, username, email address, and the comment itself).
Apart from Akismet and our analytics partners, we share your data with no-one.
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (currently not implemented), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
You can contact us about privacy-specific concerns through our Contact Us page.
